Island Settlers — Support

Island Settlers is a real-time island strategy game for iPhone, iPad, Android and the web. It has no accounts, no sign-in, no advertising and no purchases — everything in the game is available the moment it opens.

Getting started

Open the app and press Practice Run for the guided tutorial, which walks through moving your settler, gathering resources and placing your first settlement and road. Play with Friends creates a room with a five-character code; anyone you give that code to can join from any device. Empty seats are filled by bots.

Common questions

The screen is black at the top and bottom, or asks me to turn my device

The game is landscape only. On an iPad held upright it shows ROTATE YOUR DEVICE until you turn it sideways; on a phone iOS turns the game for you. If your device has rotation lock switched on, turn it off in Control Centre.

I can't join my friend's room

Room codes are five characters and are not case-sensitive. A room closes when everyone leaves it, so a code from an earlier session will not work — have the host create a new room. Multiplayer needs an internet connection; single-player does not.

Nothing responds to my taps

Close the app fully and reopen it. If it happens again, please email the address above with your device model and iOS or Android version — that is exactly the sort of report that gets fixed quickly.

How do I report a player's display name?

Display names are typed by players and are visible to everyone in the same room. If someone in a room uses an offensive name, leave the room and email the address above with the room code and the name; names are not stored on our servers after a room closes, so please send it while you remember it. Rooms are private and reachable only by their code, so the fastest fix is to close the room and open a new one without that player.

How do I delete my data?

Everything the game keeps is stored on your own device. Deleting the app, or clearing its storage, removes all of it. There is no account to close. See the privacy policy for the full detail.

Does the game cost anything?

No. There are no in-app purchases, no subscriptions and no advertising.

• your device and its iOS or Android version;
• the app version, shown at the bottom of the settings sheet;
• what you were doing when it went wrong;
• a screenshot or screen recording, if you have one.
